I See Lines. This reminds me of the German design school called the Bauhaus. A course taught by Joost Schmidt consisted of creating exciting compositional studies using simple elements. The studies used nine squares of equal size or seven bars of equal size or compositions using the form of the letter T. This Ikea pillow is a variation of that approach in making patterns. Ikea has patterns on blankets, rugs, sofas and anything else they can get their hands on. If that’s not enough for you, then throw this pillow on top of a polka dot sofa and then you’ve got the Ikea feeling. (Location: Ikea, Burbank, CA).

WURM. Loved his work a few years ago at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts in SF. The rectangles surrounding the books are meant to echo the bands of color running along the spine of the books.
